His Majes Commissionrs for Enquireing into the
Claimes yt are made to the Kings Province or Narragansett
Countrey here haveing bin pleased to constitute me their Registr
account my self Espetially considering the trouble I gave you
in my address for yor advice and direction in taking out the
Commission, and that the office you are in challenges the same
obliged to give you an account what reception and success it hath hither
to had. The Commrs have showne all possible obedience to his
Majes Command in P[er]suance of which they immediately upon receit
thereof intimated the same by their Lettr s to the Governrs and
magistrates of all his Majes Collonyes in New England, and by their
printed summons publiquely dispensed and affixed to all other p[er]sons
with their designe to meet upon the place on the 22th of this instant
which they accordingly did before whome both Plymouth and Connecticot
Collonyes by their Agents with all other p[er]sons readily appeared and
Exhibited their Claymes, Except Rhoad Island Collony where
humors as well as opinion Ever incline them to oppose his
Majes intrest and all other p[er]sons when in competition with their
owne who although p[ar]ticularly summon'd did not onely deny the
authority of the Commrs and soe refuse to appeare but publiquely
in a riotous manner by their officer accompanyed with a number of men
proclaymed an ordr under the hands and seals of the Governr , Deputy
Governr and the use of their magistrates commanding the Commrs then
sitting at Narragansett to depart and not to proceed and all other p[er]sons
within the verge of their Collony to be gone and not to abett their
proceedings; whereafter they had satt for two days and heard the
Claymes of all yt did then appeare they adjournd to Boston in ordr
to a farther hearing that they might draw up their opinions upon
the whole mattr and make speedy report thereof to his Majty which by the
next I hope with a full acct of all proceedings to be the bearer off
in the interim have onely to add with my fathers service to yor self which
please alsoe to accept from
